SAN FRANCISCO, MAY 12, 2021 – Custom, game-worn sneakers created by NBA star and two time MVP, Stephen Curry, in collaboration with The Bruce Lee Foundation are on sale in partnership with Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Atlanta and Goldin Auctions. The shoes depict martial arts legend Bruce Lee and his family and were designed to show support for the victims of shootings that took place on March 16 at three Atlanta-area spas. Fans can bid on the sneakers here and all proceeds from the auction will be donated via Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Atlanta to the individuals and families impacted by the shootings as well as Atlanta-area programs dedicated to Asian American advancement.

Following the tragic events in March, Curry contacted the Bruce Lee Foundation, hoping to lend his voice and use his platform to create a conversation and spark change amid increased violence against the Asian community. The resulting bright yellow and black customized sneakers, which were painted by Kreative Custom Kicks, signify Curry’s solidarity with the Asian community. The shoes depict Bruce Lee, who was a champion of equal rights, as well as a quote from Lee, “Under the heavens, there is only family.” The colorway of the custom Curry 8s are also reminiscent of Bruce Lee’s famous Onitsuka Tiger shoes. The Under Armour sneakers were worn by Curry during an April 4 game against the Atlanta Hawks.

“After all we have been through this past year, let alone in the history of our country, people still deal with unnecessary tragedy and are afraid for their lives. We have to do better,” said Curry. “We have so many faithful Asian American fans that have supported me along this amazing journey. We represent them on the court and I feel the love no matter where I go. The shoes are a small way in which I can stand with this community, honor and support the victims of this tragedy, while also bringing awareness to Lee’s timeless teachings. We are all human beings on a quest to fulfill our purpose and that energy should be used to uplift and love each other to the fullest. Anything else is a waste of our existence.”

There was rumblings late last year that 2016 would be the return of the Air Jordan X City Series.

At first glance, this Air Jordan X looks to be constructed from two different leathers: a smooth leather seen on most of the upper, and a tumbled leather seen on panel overlays. This entirely black Jordan X (including tongue and heel Jumpman branding) is accented by gold seen on the inner tag, heeltab, and gold speckles on the translucent outsole.

The NYC stitching on the lateral (outside) of both sneakers is in the same font that has come to be associated with the Air Jordan 10 and used on last year’s 45 Chicago Retro. What interests me the most about this particular Jordan 10 is that very close resemblance to the unreleased ‘OVO’ Air Jordan 10 that Drake and others have shown on social media since the end of 2013.

Under Armour’s timing couldn’t be better for the next colorway release on the Curry Two. They call it ‘The Professional’. It releases this Friday November 20th, available on the UA Store for $130. The Professional comes in a black and grey upper for a more reserved look in comparison to previous Curry Twos. adidas and Derrick Rose have a very symbiotic relationship. Their individual success is closely tied together. While the adidas D Rose series has been met with mixed reviews, the adidas D Rose 773 team series has had a consistent run for the four years its been out.

In this edition of Sneak-A-Peek, we provide an early look at the upcoming adidas D Rose 773 IV.

Seen in both a red a blue colorway, the upcoming Derrick Rose team sneaker looks to feature mesh panels, an adidas Bounce midsole, and a translucent outsole. I believe this is the final version of the D Rose 773 IV since the back straps seen in the heel section resembles the lockdown system I’ve seen on early adidas D Rose 6 samples.

Since 2008, when Jordan Brand spent the year releasing Air Jordan Retro basketball sneakers in pairs as part of the Countdown Package series (two numbered silhouettes that when added together equaled the number 23), there has been a Jordan 11 that came out in December. Literally every year since and 2015 will be no different.

The word around is that the pictured pair will be called the ’72-10′ Air Jordan XI (11) and gets its colorway inspiration directly from the Chicago Bulls uniform and namesake from the 1995-96 team that holds the best regular season NBA record of all time.

What is unusual about the Air Jordan XI releasing during the Holiday 2015 season is that a tumbled leather has taken the place of where ballistic mesh material normally on the silhouette’s upper. Keep it locked to our Official Release section for an exact date when officially provided.

Under Armour’s basketball division has been trending upward for the last few years and aside from the monumental endorsement of Stephen Curry, many will mark the rise of the brand starting with the release of the ClutchFit Drive. Here we get an early look three of the Under Armour ClutchFit Drive 2 colorways that will be worn during the 2015 Elite 24.

Having not been officially announced yet, it isn’t a stretch of the imagination to assume that the ClutchFit Drive 2 will be debuted on the feet of the 2015 Elite 24 participants. While the top colorway is very similar to the Spawn Anatomix from Elite 24 two years ago, the pairs below are new color schemes to the high school basketball event.

My insider info (search engines) tells me the Under Armour ClutchFit Drive 2 releases sometime in the middle of August for $125.

The 10th annual Under Armour Elite 24 events takes place August 20-22rd in New York City.

The biggest selling point of Retro basketball sneakers is the nostalgia that comes with them. Brands seem to be hoping that the people who connected with certain sneakers would buy them a decade later when the purchase isn’t as significant.

Originally released in 2005 during a time where Tracy McGrady was THAT. DUDE. in the NBA, the adidas T-MAC 5 was looks to celebrate being a decade removed from its original release date.

Here we get a very early look at three upcoming adidas T-MAC 5 colorways. The one at the top of the page is looks to be for Chinese New Year, I have NO IDEA on the colorway inspiration on next T-MAC 5, and the bottom black-and-red has a very similar colorblocking to a OG 2005 pair.

These three colorways of the adidas T-MAC 5 are scheduled to release sometime in 2015.

In a sportswear climate where the internet is the most important resource, those in search of information about sneakers will find it if searched properly. Instead of unauthorized images leaking to the web spoiling surprises, Jordan Brand has taken the approach of “laying their cards on the table” by detailing some of their upcoming releases. In this case, showing nine Air Jordan Retro releases over six months in advance.

According to this media release, there will be three different Air Jordan Retro collections in 2016. ‘The Poster’ collection gets its colorway inspiration from iconic Michael Jordan imagery and ‘The Dunk From Above’ collection plays off of the springtime weather being good for flight (get it, Flight) by use of correlating materials and seasonal colors.

I am most excited for ‘The Alternate’ collection which is said to release Player Exclusive colorways only seen on the feet of previous Jordan Brand athletes, hardcore PE hunters, and the well-connected.

Just from these early images we know that the Air Jordan I, II, IV, V, and XII will have Retro releases in 2016 but I believe other colorways and silhouettes not shown here as well.

A lot of parallels can be made between the current state of the music business and sneaker business. Thanks to the internet, information is very widespread and it is harder to keep secrets.

Yesterday, alleged pictures of the Nike KD8 started to go around. What started with a single, profile-type shot was seemingly used as an excuse for other social accounts who had the shoe (or other pictures) to post their images, leaving us with little to the imagination about what the next Kevin Durant sneaker will look like.

Less than 24 hours after the Nike KD8 leak, Kevin Durant took to both his Instagram and Twitter feed with very official-looking teaser imagery featuring the number 8, an animal head, and a Nike Swoosh. The injured Thunder player also tagged #KD8 with the image on both social profiles.
