All people are the same whatever their color, religion, social group etc etc. However (and shoot me down right away) this is dumb! ‘Gay’ until the mid-70’s mean pink, fluffy, and flowery, then the homosexual community decided to use it to describe themselves – it was not a derogatory term used against them, it was embraced by them.

So when a player pulls up for a 10 foot floater instead of attacking the rim, describing them with the word gay means weak (and pink, fluffy and flowery). A call on a touch foul is the same – it is not being used in a derogatory homophobic way, it is actually being used descriptively for the original meaning of soft.

Don’t get me wrong, gay is not a word I’d use anyway, but this politically correct BS as a result of a group claiming ownership of a word, then everyone claiming to be offended when it’s used for its original meaning is just a bit mad.
